Fujifilm is proud to support Mencap - the UK's leading charity working with people with a learning disability and their families and carers. Mencap and
learning disability People with a learning disability often face discrimination in society. Mencap is fighting to put a stop to this, by campaigning for greater opportunities and challenging attitudes and prejudices. The charity also provides a wide range of support and advice services to meet people's needs and choices throughout their lives. Mencap and
Fujifilm – a partnership in pictures. Fujifilm understands how important imagery is to Mencap. The charity has just unveiled its new brand identity, Understanding learning disability. Photography plays a crucial role in this, showing people with a learning disability in a positive way: involved and included in the community. Understanding learning disability is all about bringing out the unique personality of everyone with a learning disability. Mencap wants society to understand what it means to have a learning disability - showing the reality, rather than the stereotype. Fujifilm, naturally, understands how photography can achieve all of these aims. Our support in the coming years will help Mencap fight for choice, opportunity and respect for people with a learning disability. Among other things, our support will help Mencap develop its photographic library – a key tool for spreading its message to the world at large. "We're delighted that Fujifilm is to continue supporting us," says David Scott-Ralphs, Director of Strategy and Communications at Mencap. "It's a great partnership – and such a natural one too. Photographs say so much about who we are and the kind of world we want to achieve for people with a learning disability. We welcome Fujifilm's photographic expertise in helping us find images to achieve our goals". |
